Saturday: Records, Rants, Stories and the Singing Saw

SingingSawLong time Atlanta record buyers will remember Ella Guru fondly.  The storefront may be gone, but proprietor Don Radcliffe is still selling records most recently as the host of the East Atlanta Record Show, for EARS (funny how these East Atlanta folks like to make up their acronyms).

Don and several other local record sellers (including Andy’s Tall Stax) will be showcasing their wares Saturday at the First Existentialist Congregation of Atlanta, 470 Candler Park Drive, across from Candler Park, which incidentally is not in East Atlanta (confused yet?).  Lots of records, CDs, and hard to find promotional items will be on sale from 11-5. $3 cover.

When you’re done with the record show, head down McLendon into Little Five Points, grab a slice at Savage Pizza or burger at the Vortex, then head over to Opal Gallery around 8pm  for another Evening with the Garbageman.

Bill Taft and his merry band of misfits are hosting another evening of shared storytelling.  Bring your finest flash fiction, social rant, or short performance art.  Nothing is off limits and your patience is always rewarded with one or two (usually funny) nuggets.  Musical interludes will be provided by Smoke That City featuring the inimitable sounds of the singing saw.
