Thanks Y’all

Thanksgiving has come and gone and maybe that was the right time for this post but with all the focus on eating and shopping, we missed it. Nonetheless, as we consider our favorite records, books and shows of 2010, year-end reflection has hit us with the need to thank some of our friends, colleagues, and supporters.

Thank you to the promo people – Beggers US, Girlie Talk, Team Clermont, The Syn, For the Win!, Deux ex Machina who let us know about their clients’ latest doins and trust us with passes and tickets to giveaway.

Thank you to the labels – Matador, StickFigure, Vagrant, Kill Rock Stars, Drag City, 4AD, True Panther for trusting us with promos for review, recommendation and curiosity.

Thank you to all the other local music bloggers who are increasingly supporting and promoting one another and their different perspectives on music in Atlanta and beyond. Ohmpark, I’m a Bear Etc, Little Advances, Dead Journalist, Latest Disgrace, The Moon and Pluto, Wholly Roller, Fear of Arthropods – all well worth getting to know.

Thank you to all our contributors this year and before – Alex Brenner, Matt Jarrard, Erik Stefan, Rebekah Goode-Peoples, Ryan Peoples, Emily Hogan, Brock Scott, Richard Parsons.

Thank you to the venues and promoters who often let us through their doors to lurk in their hallways and music rooms only because we do this blog thing: Ok Productions, Eddie’s Attic, Variety Playhouse, 529, The Earl, Drunken Unicorn.

Thank you finally to the woman you know as Yankee Rose for being the light of my life, the person who runs our book club, who provides all our technical support, who got our logos, and who made every good thing to come from this little project possible (despite my frequently misguided efforts to the contrary).

To all those who are deserving of thanks but who I missed here today, please know that I will think of you sometime (probably sooner rather than later) and regret that I missed thanking you by name. As we used to say ’round here: You’re on the A-list ;-). (yes, that’s an emoticon and it is the first and last time you will ever see one here…)

Now listen to a little new music:
Modern Skirts – Bumpercar
Unicycle Loves You – There’s A Giant Walking In My Heart
