If you can really knock out the fiction but only have a page worth to print, then join us on Saturday night (Sept. 26) for an Evening with the Garbageman at Opal Gallery in L5p. The Garbageman takes all comers who want to read, rant, or recite their supershort story. If you like pretentious poetry readings, please don’t bother. This is decidedly not that.
The night’s big theme: Portrait of the Artist as a Dead Man/Dangerous Woman/Drunken Luntaic/Parasite/Pair of brown eyes/Seeker of Paradise/Subversive Agent/Cat’s Paw/Old Lady’s Missing Shoe/Specimen Bag/etc.
But don’t worry nobody really follows the theme anyway. It’s BYOB (which you may need to make it through) and about as hipster a scene you will find this side of Eyedrum. If you look closely you might find an A-Lister in the crowd. Festivities begin at 8PM.
