It’s no longer a certified news story but Athens’ music showplace, Georgia Theatre, was recently ravaged by fire. The blaze gutted the venue and has left many out of work. Tonight two great Athens bands that we often selfishly try to adopt as our own because of their Atlanta connections, The Whigs and Dead Confederate, will play a benefit show. Athens’ Melting Point will host the event and all proceeds will go to the Georgia Theatre. Cover at the door is only $10.
