Elmore Leonard to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

The New York Times reports that renowned mystery and western author, Elmore Leonard, will receive the PEN USA Lifetime Achievement Award on December 2 in Beverly Hills. Leonard is a master of dialogue and should be on the reading list of anyone interested in contemporary popular fiction. He is the author of bestselling A-List favorites, Get Shorty, Rum Punch, Out of Site and Be Cool - all of which have been made into feature films. He is less widely recognized for his work in the Western genre today, but that too was quite excellent. He is the author of the story that was twice made into the film, 3:10 to Yuma.
