Author Appearance: Kevin Young at Decatur Library

Kevin Young, is the Atticus Haygood Professor of English and Creative Writing and curator of the Raymond Danowski Poetry Library at Emory University and the author of numerous volumes of poetry. His poetry and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Book Review, The Paris Review, The Kenyon Review, and Callaloo. His awards include a Stegner Fellowship in Poetry at Stanford University, a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, a MacDowell Colony Fellowship, and an NEA Fellowship.

Thursday evening he will read from and discuss his latest volume of poetry, The Art of Losing: Poems of Grief and Healing. Young is also the author of For the Confederate Dead, Jelly Roll, and To Repel Ghosts: The Remix (a title we love). He’ll be signing copies, new and old, after the reading.

The event starts at 7:15 p.m., Thursday, March 18, Decatur Library Auditorium.
