Maybe you missed our January post suggesting that you get your tickets for the xx and jj early and you’ve been shut out. It’s okay really. Wednesday night might turn out to be the best single night for live music in Atlanta in some time. Even with two popular venues (The Variety and Eddie’s Attic) already sold out, there is still plenty to see.
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will be at Smith’s Olde Bar. If you still haven’t heard their self-titled full length from last year, you should check it out. It was one of Rube’s favorite albums of 2009. $15 in advance.
Listen: Shearwater – Black Eyes
Listen: Wye Oak – I Hope You Die
Finally, Atlanta’s own The Constellations return to the Drunken Unicorn as they tour with Hockey in advance of their forthcoming debut Southern Gothic. The whole album isn’t quite ready for your ears yet, but you can see the video we posted for the first single “Set Back.”
