The Telephone Game

We’re going to try a new feature here at Atlanta’s A-List. We often receive music from artists that we don’t have the time or inclination to drop too many words over. It doesn’t mean the music isn’t good (more often than not it is). It may have just caught us on one of those days when we’re listening to Live at Leeds for the 1,000th time or are otherwise distracted.

The way we figure, the reason this music arrives in our inbox or mailbox is because the artist or pr pro behind the artist is looking for some exposure.  Who are we to deny that?  C’mon, we misspelled giveaway in a post title last week (it’s fixed now), so maybe we should just let you decide if you like it and use the interwebs to track down more info somewhere else.  Thus, the less than clever working title for this new sort of post is The Telephone Game in which we pass it along down the line and let you decide what you’re hearing.  If we switch up that lackluster name, just look for these posts under the Listen category at the top of the home page which is where we put most of the audio files.

Here come the disclaimers.  We’re not going to offer up much more than the name of the artist and song: no commentary, no links.  The music will range widely in genre and, we suppose depending on your taste, quality: again, no warnings just some basic info.  You gotta listen to discover.

Finally, thank you to the artists, managers and public relations pros who trust us with your talent.  We always appreciate the opportunity to listen.  If you see something up here that shouldn’t be, please let us know and we’ll get it fixed.  Okay, we’re ready to go.

MP3Nova – Supersonic Vagabond (from the 2009 release Nepenthe)

MP3Soulo – Up Where The Clouds Come Down (from the 2009 release Sun Valley on Plug Research Records)

MP3: Little Tybee – Cemetery Leaves (from the 2009 release Building a Bomb)

MP3: Mother Jackson – Ain’t No Way To Be Young (from the 2008 release Loud & Proud: The Soundtrack to Damnation)
