Word on the street is that it was packed at Eyedrum last night for Lotus Plaza. Incredibly, a recording of that live performance is already available on the Lotus Plaza/Deerhunter/Atlas Sound blog. Find it here.
We’re listening to it right now. It’s airy, eerie, and noisy in the way you might expect from these local experimentalists. You will be ten minutes in before the first break and then the adventure begins. Forty-three minutes of music in total.
If you’re not familiar with Lotus Plaza, it is the side project of Deerhunter guitarist Lockett Pundt. You might recognize him from the picture to the right (then again, maybe not). He released his debut LP, Floodlight Collective, this spring and this show features that effort.
A special note about the recording. The set was recorded and mixed (obviously at lightning speed) by Nathan Brown and Robby Kee who can be seen out and about doing their own mix of ambient sounds as Tree Creature. (Tonight at Eyedrum if you’re really ambitious.)
