The Tallest Man On Earth, April 28 at The EARL

The musical landscape and blogger in-boxes are littered with singer-songwriters who like to strum their guitar and show you the heart on their sleeve. Some manage to step out of that mire and remind us why people think of Bob Dylan and Gram Parsons as legends. Kristian Matsson, who records and performs as The Tallest Man On Earth is one of them.

Alex’s occassional rant aside, we sometimes do agree with Pitchfork. They just gave Matsson’s latest effort, The Wild Hunt, its Best New Music tag and from what we have been able to hear, it may well deserve the tag. Check him out for yourself when he visits The Earl on April 28 with Dead Oceans labelmate, Nurses.

Listen:
The Tallest Man On Earth – “King of Spain”

The Tallest Man On Earth – “Burden of Tomorrow”

Nurses – “Technicolor”

Nurses – “Caterpillar Playground”
