We first heard Peter Wolf Crier on a great podcast called Musicheads from Minnesota Public Radio and were instantly intrigued. (We strongly recommend the podcast)We also find it quite easy to recommend Peter Wolf Crier too. Their sorta Americana-style simultaneously flirts with 60s pop and more recent alt-country scene to produce songs that are more satisfying with every spin. Given the time deserved, this one might have cracked my top ten of 2010 (so far) and might well have been a contender for some of our other contributors (Erik and Matt, have you heard these guys yet?).
If you’re the least bit curious, and you should be, catch them on Tuesday night at the Masquerade. They will start the triple bill that night (so get there early) with The Builders and the Butchers and Heartless Bastards who alone easily justify the modest ticket price.
If anyone can remind me of the song this Peter Wolf Crier track reminds me of, please drop a comment. (I’m gettin’ old, the memory fades…)
Peter Wolf Crier – Crutch & Cane
The Builders And The Butchers – When It Rains
Heartless Bastards – The Mountain
