The latest incarnation of Margot & the Nuclear So and Sos is sounding less like the orchestral/chamber pop their fans were accustom to. In fact, only 3 members remain from the Animal/Not Animal recording sessions and tour: Richard Edwards (guitar, vocals), Tyler Watkins (Bass), and Erik Kang (violin, lap steel). The grungy-er sounding new tunes sound more like In Utero b-sides, all together, not a bad thing (says this Margot fan).
September 21th is the release date for Buzzard (album cover seen at left). They’ll take the stage at the Drunken Unicorn October 9th receiving support from The Lonely Forest and Cameron McGill & What Army . Tickets are $12 in advance, and $14 at the door.
