The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, Jan. 15 at the Earl

So in case you didn’t know it, I know the folks in Oryx and Crake. Which is pretty cool since they are easily my favorite Atlanta band right now. What’s even cooler for me is that they will share the stage at the EARL on January 15th with The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. It will be a stripped down version of the band – only three of the usual nine band members – but still a cool show, right?

But that should be cool for anybody, why is it so cool for me you ask? Because the talent behind GOASTT is a Mr. Sean Lennon, son of the immortal Beatle and his last wife.

Yes, I am now less than six degrees of separation from not only John Lennon but in effect all of the members of the most legendary rock band of all time. Along with my “less than six” connections to Josef Stalin and King Kong (I once dated a girl who was babysat by Fay Wray), I’m feelin’ pretty well connected right now.

If you go to the show you might be able to make the same claim – about the Beatles anyway. And even if you can’t, the music still will be pretty cool. Check it out.
