If there is one show you must see this year it has be the Forgetters playing December 15 at the Drunken Unicorn.
Why you ask? Lead singer Blake Schwarzenbach is one of the most influential artists of our time starting in 1988 as lead singer for punk rock messiahs Jawbreaker and later fronting indie rock gods Jets to Brazil. Late last year Blake caused a super internet buzz when he formed his new band, Thorns of Life. Well, that project did not work out which brings us to his new band Forgetters.
What do they sound like you ask? Well it’s kind of a mix between both of his previous efforts with some new found tenderness. Lyrically, Blake is at the top of his game as you can see and hear below.
Oh yeah, local power pop sensation Gentleman Jesse will be opening the show. See, just like the rug in the Big Lebowski it ties the room together. 9pm, $8.
