Old 97′s, February 25 at Buckhead Theatre

I haven’t been to the old Roxy since it reopened as the Buckhead Theatre a few months ago. There’s no question they have brought some quality artists to town but getting to that part of town is a bit of a drag for me and I rarely find a good enough reason to bother to make the effort. Friday night, February 25th offers a good enough reason.

The Old 97′s returned to form with 2010′s The Grand Theatre Volume One – one of my top 10 of the year. They have always been a great band to see live, but they do seem to be at their best when they’ve got a quality set to play. There are more than enough stand out tracks on Grand Theatre to expect just that.

The will be supported by Those Darlins, who made one of the funnest records of 2009, and hold nothing back on stage. Easily worth the trip.
