It is with great sadness that we repeat the report from Constellation Records‘ website that this afternoon Vic Chesnutt left this world. We have been a fan of this artist since a friend made us listen to him, one of those favors you don’t forget. Further evidence of that was our post announcing his performance at the EARL this fall – four months in advance.
We are really in no position to properly eulogize this man, though if we were we would without reservation. There isn’t much that we can say other than this news simply struck us. Athens and America have lost a sincere and true artist. Our prayers are with Vic and all whom he left behind.
