I’ve been thinking of doing this post for a while now. As much as I love my records and my local record stores, sometimes it’s hard to resist the digital deals out there. I don’t want to be a shill for the big online retailer (though I’m sure some will accuse me of that anyway) but I think it’s worth letting people know what we might think are five worthwhile albums on sale for $5 this month. I’ll leave the comments open if you want to blast away or share five of your own selections that are on sale this month. Yeah, it all happens at that rainforest site. Here’s my five for February.
I have been on such a huge Avett Brothers kick lately, I can’t let this one go by.
Avett Brothers Live, Volume 3

This almost made my top ten of 2010. Yeah, it’s real popular. Yeah, it’s real good.
Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs – God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise [+Digital Booklet]

Another artist that could have stolen a spot in the best of 2010 – this is their 2008 record.
Dr. Dog – Fate

Buddy Guy is still making good blues records. Maybe not his best, but among the best out there right now.
Buddy Guy – Living Proof

Finally, another one that’s just a function of what I’ve been listening to lately. Still love Dischord Records.
Fugazi – 13 Songs
