[There's always one guy who has to do it his own way. For us that's Erik. Fortunately, he does it so well. It is Independence Day after all. - Rube]

Wow. It’s hard to believe we’re half way through 2010. There’s been a ridiculous amount of great music released in 2010 so far, and I’m equally excited about the release schedule slated for the next several months. Here’s a look back and forward in no particular order.
Top 5 So Far
The Tallest Man On Earth – Wild Hunt – He’s really not that tall…Never heard of him? Now you have…Go check him out!
The National – High Violet – I’ve never heard an angry man sound so relaxed. They’re live at the Fox Theatre in October…Do yourself a favor: buy a ticket and go watch Matt Beringer have a mental breakdown on stage.
Band of Horses – Infinite Arms – Don’t jump off the bandwagon…These guys are just warming up!
Hole – Nobody’s Daughter – Just kidding.
Top 5 Most Anticipated (no guarantee these actually arrive by December 31st)
Oryx and Crake – Atlanta’s finest…Debut out in August!
Arcade Fire – Suburbs – I’m a city kid, but for these faux-Canadians’ Springsteen-esque epics I’d hit the highway with the top down searching for strip mall vistas.
The Strokes – I’m skeptical this comes out in 2010, but I’m curious to see if these boys still have it…and if we still care.
Radiohead – Yeah. They’re good.
Fleet Foxes – I’ve always wanted to be a Beach Boy. These Pacific Northwesterners aren’t very tan or have bodacious bods, but their blissed-out, sunsoaked harmonies will make you forget they’re pasty white Dungeon & Dragon lovers.
The Tallest Man On Earth – “Burden of Tomorrow”
The Tallest Man On Earth – “King of Spain”
Radiohead – These Are My Twisted Words
Fleet Foxes – White Winter Hymnal
