Please do not mistake this list of songs as critically important or influential or groundbreaking or much of anything really – other than good, of course. These are just songs we liked this year that didn’t appear on one of our favorite albums – and by that I mean me, Rube (please don’t try to pin any of these on Alex or Rose).
I guess the list covers some ground – from garage to hip hop, well known to (sorta) unsigned – but let’s be honest, many music fans’ lists run that way and we still think of ourselves as fans (just ask a couple of the artists we accosted this year).
